In recent years, refrigerators have had freezers installed in the lower area of the unit. Not so long ago, we remember when top freezers were common in refrigerators. Experts say this is absurd without much logic.

But the latest trend is seeing refrigerators with a freezer compartment in the bottom. This may have changed for simple anatomical reasons. After all, the old arrangement forced users to bend over to pick up more frequently used foods, such as fruit or vegetables. In addition, the uncomfortable squatting position for food also leads to greater loss of cold air, because the door has to be opened for a longer period of time.

One model that is gaining popularity is the "French door." Considering that many users buy more refrigerated products such as vegetables, beverages, cold meats or sauces, the level of the refrigerator is inverted. The refrigerator moves up and the freezer goes into the cabinet below. Vegetables are at a more comfortable height and refrigerated produce is more within reach.

But refrigerators can be more difficult to manage. In these freezers you have to arrange the frozen produce in a tower, so if you put the pork on the bottom, you have to wait until you have all the beef and chicken, or take all the meat out and get what you need, then reorganize. These types of refrigerators are more practical for those who refrigerate more and often freeze products.
